I haven't blogged for awhile, but don't think that I gave up! Last week I was having tremendous knee pain, and still continued to go running. I talked with my mom, who is an orthopedic nurse, and decided to go in and se
e one of her doctors. We decided to inject both of my knees, so that I could keep training. It actually was painful at first, but now I am thankful that I did it! From now on I have to wear those little knee strap brace things that go under the knee cap when I run.

The doc also advised me to do some strengthening exercises for the muscles right above my knee caps, and that should help as well.
I did some work on the elliptical instead of running for a few days, and now I have been going back and forth between that and the treadmill.
On top of all the knee stuff, we have had sickness in our household! I am dealing with ear/sinus infections and some respiratory junk, but my kids and I are all on antibiotics now, so I keep running...
I am scared and excited for Sunday though...it's our first race! It's 4 miles, and I know we definitely won't be the fastest...our goal is just to complete it! Keep us in your prayers, and I will let all of you know how it goes...and post pictures!
